- Sindy He - Tensar China
Mrs. Sindy He graduated from Xi'an Highway and Traffic University in China with a master’s degree in Road and Bridge engineering in 1997. She worked for China Highway Planning & Design Institute as a bridge engineer. In 2001 Sindy joined Tensar China representative office (Beijing) and started her career in Tensar. Currently, Sindy is the Design & Marketing director of Tensar Geosynthetics (China) Ltd. and the GM of Tensar Design & Consulting (Beijing) Ltd. She is also a member of the Reinforcing & Stabilization standing committee of CTAG. Sindy has been engaged in the design and application research of geosynthetic materials since she joined Tensar. She has participated in designing hundreds of reinforced projects, covering various engineering fields in various industries. On behalf of Tensar, she participated in various research projects in reinforcing and stabilization application, published several papers in Chinese and English, and also formulated and updated several Chinese standards and specifications. As the deputy member of the Reinforcing & Stabilization standing committee of CTAG, Sindy also participated in the preparation of the Technical Guide for the Application of Geosynthetic Materials Reinforced Soil Structure (ISBN 978-7-114-13186-8).
- Michael Dobie
Michael Dobie is a geotechnical engineer, graduating in civil engineering from Bristol University (UK) and later obtaining a master’s degree in soil mechanics from Imperial College, London. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK). Since graduating in 1973, he has worked in geotechnical engineering for British consultant WS Atkins & Partners, the Delft Soil Mechanics Laboratory in the Netherlands and Singapore, and American specialist consultant Dames & Moore. He worked for Acer Consultants (now Hyder Consultants, previously Freeman Fox & Partners). He was seconded to establish the Central Soils Laboratory in Bangi, Malaysia, to provide high-quality soil testing for the North-South Expressway project. Mike joined Tensar International in 1991 and is currently the Regional Manager (Asia Pacific) based in Jakarta, with responsibilities for developing design methods and software for both reinforced soil structures and mechanical stabilisation techniques. Mike lived previously in Kuala Lumpur from 1989-93 and has been making regular visits over the last 25 years, conducting workshops and seminars in reinforced soil techniques.
